     Elena Nikulshina-Fray (soprano)

            A native of St. Petersburg, Russia, Ms. Nikulshina-Fray is an opera singer and voice instructor residing in Houston, TX (The Galleria area). She holds a Bachelor's degree in Piano from Cherepovets Music College, Russia and Master's degree in Voice from Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in St. Petersburg, Russia.

           Ms. Nikulshina-Fray debuted at the Rimsky-Korsakov Music Theater singing Tosca (Tosca). From 1994 to 2000 she was a soloist with the Petersburg Concert singing over 500 performances. She also appeared with the Samara Opera as Amelia (Un Ballo in Maschera), Leonora (Il Trovatore), Iolanta (Iolanta), Yaroslavna (Prince Igor), Ghita (Der Zwerg), Colombina (Arlecchino), Mother (The Christmas Tree). She performed Lisa (Pique Dame) with Nizhny Novgorod Opera.

           A versatile concert performer, Ms. Nikulshina-Fray has worked with contemporary composers such as S. Slonimsky, B. Tischenko, U. Kornakov, A. Popov, G. Korchmar, A. Radvilovich and  others. She has performed rare works such as Das Marienleben by Paul Hindemith, Songs Op.27 by Zemlinsky, Sonata-Vocalize and Suite-Vocalize by N. Metner, Italian Songs by E. Denisov and more. On one occasion, due to an "emergency" request to substitute for another soloist, she had learned the vocal solo in 4th Symphony by G. Mahler in one day and successfully performed it with Philharmonic Orchestra in the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Grand Hall.

           Since coming to United States in 1999 Ms. Nikulshina-Fray appeared with Knoxville Opera Company as Nedda (I Pagliacci) and Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi) and With Asheville Lyric Opera as Tosca (Tosca).

      Ms. Nikulshina-Fray has dedicated  herself to students as teaching has been a passion throughout her entire life. By utilizing a unique method of voice development she has been able to help students achieve remarkable results. Many students of ElenaVoce Studio take ABRSM Exam  /http://us.abrsm.org/en/our-exams/  passing it with Merit and Distinction!      

         Since moving to Houston she became a voice coach for "Champion Sisters" trio  http://www.championsisters.com/ .

         Her Students continuing their music and singing education by receiving scholarships in various colleges.   

         Ms. Nikulshina-Fray also gives private Piano lessons and accompanies her students on the piano at performances and competitions. 

         Even those students not making singing their career are certain to stay passionate about their voice for a lifetime after beginning their practice with Ms. Nikulshina-Fray.
